All that you wanted to know about Dog Carriers
Article by Jenny Gregorich
Doesn't matter if they are travelling across the town or half way around the world, pet owners would always love to carry their dogs wherever they go! But not everyone out there is happy to welcome your dog. Dog carriers are the best choice for those who would love to be able to carry their dogs everywhere. These carriers are cleverly designed to look like your handbag. So you can now tuck your dog inside the bag and get set to enjoy your shopping. But should concealing your dog be the only motive? Certainly not! The dog carrier should be least stressful for your pet and you as well. Before you buy a dog carrier there are a few things to keep in mind.
A majority of these dog carriers are made of nylon. Although there are a few plush one's that are available in leather. The material of the bag should be comfortable enough for the dog. The carrier should have a soft and warm bottom. You can add to its comfort by putting in a pillow, blanket or towel. If your dog gets uncomfortable when left in the dark, or is uneasy when left alone make sure that the bag has plenty of area to see through. The bag should also have a place to hook a leash.
The size of the bag also matters. The bag should be large enough, to not only contain the dog but also should be large enough to allow your dog to stretch. Make sure these bags have pockets so that you can carry your wallet and cell phone inside the bag. There should be enough room to carry your pet's favorite toy. Just because the dog fits inside the bag doesn't mean that the bag should be able to carry the weight of the dog. Make sure to test the durability of the dog.
If planning to travel by air, be sure to buy a dog carrier that's approved by the airline. A roller carrier is usually comfortable when travelling by air. It also doubles up as a luggage carrier for you.
Price of course isn't a consideration when buying a comfortable bag for your beloved dog! But it's important to get your money's worth. There are some designer bags that cost a bomb, but are nothing in terms of efficiency. The premium price is only for the 'designer' tag that these bags carry. However, there are quite a few designer bags that are efficient and justify the high price. When looking for dog carriers go for one that's the best in terms of comfort.

What You Need to Know About Dog Carriers
Article by Steven Barnhart
When you first travel with your dog, you may think that buying dog carriers will be an easy decision. After all, all you really need to do is find one that fits your dog and your budget. But there are a lot more factors than that and you will need to consider them all before you make your purchase.
Size
The size of your dog is extremely important when determining which dog carriers are suitable for your animal. Although each dog carrier usually describes the weight of the dog that should be in it, it is actually more important that you figure out the length. The length of your dog is not how long they are from snout to tail, but how long they are when they are completely laid out. You will want your dog carrier to be at least this long, and much longer if you are taking it on long trips. Your dog should obviously be able to fully stand up and turn around in the carrier, too.
Purpose
Not all dog carriers are made for all purposes. If you only want a dog carrier to take your dog to the vet, then you can choose one that is slightly smaller and doesn't have a lot of features. Your dog will only be in it for a few minutes, so as long as they have proper ventilation and the ability to see out, they will be fine. However, if you are going to be taking your puppy on a plane trip, you will want to choose among the various dog carriers that are airline approved. Each airline has its own restriction as to the maximum and minimum size, the weight, and the type of carrier that you will need. If you have any questions, then you should talk to the airline.
Safety
Your dog's safety must be the number one priority when you are looking at dog carriers. If a carrier is too big, they will tend to slide around in it and can actually hurt themselves. If it is too small, they will get claustrophobic and won't go into the carrier quite as easily. Therefore, make sure that you buy one that is the proper fit. You should also make sure that the ventilation is sufficient for the size and breed of your dog. Your dog will get hot in there, especially if the carrier is in your vehicle, so making sure that they have plenty of air is essential.
Carrying
Some dog carriers are designed to be carried, but in the case of larger breeds, you will find some that actually have wheels. When you are taking your dog with you, putting him in or out of the car, or taking him on a plane, you will also need to consider how you will maneuver the carrier with the dog in it, so keep in mind that combined weight when you are choosing your carrier, and make sure that you will have a way to move it.
